Ingredients for the Sugar Body Scrub:
- 1 cup of plain white granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup of castor oil
- Your favorite essential oils for fragrance
Equipment:
- A pint-sized mason jar or an airtight container with a lid

Instructions for Making the Scrub:
  1. Select Your Container:Choose a clean, pint-sized mason jar or an airtight container with a lid for storing your scrub.
  2. Add the Sugar: Fill the container with 1 cup of granulated sugar. If you prefer a more moisturizing scrub, consider using brown sugar.
  3. Combine with Castor Oil:Slowly add 1/4 cup of castor oil to the sugar while mixing. The oil will begin to saturate the sugar, creating a thick paste.
  4. Adjust Consistency:If you prefer a more liquid scrub, add a bit more castor oil. For a drier scrub, use less oil or add more sugar until you reach the desired consistency.
  5. Add Essential Oils:Incorporate your chosen essential oils into the mixture. Start with a few drops and mix well. The amount needed will depend on the strength of the oils and your personal scent preference.
  6. Seal and Store:Once you've achieved the perfect blend, secure the lid on your container to keep the scrub fresh.
  7. Use in the Shower: To use your scrub, turn off the water, scoop out a small amount with clean hands, and gently massage onto damp skin using circular motions. Focus on areas that need exfoliation.
  8. Rinse:After scrubbing, rinse your body with warm water. The sugar will dissolve, leaving your skin smooth and moisturized.
Shower Safety:Ensure the lid is tightly sealed when using the scrub in the shower to prevent water from getting into the jar, which would dissolve the sugar.
Maintenance:If the scrub begins to separate or if oil rises to the top, give it a good stir or shake before each use.
Storage:Store your scrub in a cool, dry place when not in use. Avoid exposing it to heat or direct sunlight, which can affect the quality of the oils.

Additional Tips:
- Always perform a patch test with the scrub on a small area of skin to ensure you don't have an adverse reaction to any of the ingredients.
- If you have sensitive skin, consider using a carrier oil with a lighter texture, such as sweet almond oil, in place of some or all of the castor oil.
- Customize your scrub by experimenting with different types of sugars (like fine or coarse) or adding other natural ingredients like honey or almond meal for added benefits.
